T134 Engine and Power Technology

Course Description
Engine and Power Technology, sometimes known "Small Engine Technology" is a class that can be taken at any level Frosh-Senior. This class is designed to take students through 2 and 4 stroke theory and a full exploration of the internal combustion engine. Students will learn about many different types of engines, and how they convert power from one form to another. Students also learn valuable repair and maintenance skill for small engines. This class is one semester long, so it may be paired with T144 Production Technology.
Projects
Students will completely disassemble and rebuild at least one engine during the course of the class. This may be paired with extra projects brought from home, time permitting, or additional projects in class.
After Engine and Power Technology
After Engine and Power Technology, a student can choose to take any of the following classes:
Automotive technology is a class exploring the fundamentals of an automobile, and its various systems. Students work in a full featured auto shop, completing labs and doing live work on cars as a part of this curriculum.
Introduction to Engineering Design
This course is for students who are considering a career in Engineering. It will cover the basics of design and exactly what being an engineer is all about.
