Course Description
Computer Aided Drafting is a class that can be taken at any level Frosh-Senior. This class is aimed to build a skill set for students so that they can use computers to develop and design any number of things.
Projects
In this first year course, students will learn about technical drawing, and how to convert ideas to paper using advanced software used by professionals in the engineering and design fields. Students will then learn to develop 3D models from their drawings. The class will also cover basic architecture and students will design homes.3D modeling and animation are also covered with a unit on 3D Studio Max, the same software that is used by film, and video game developers worldwide.
After Computer Aided Drafting
After Computer Aided Drafting, a student can choose to take any of the following classes:
Explorations In Engineering and Architecture:
Explorations in Engineering and Architecture goes further into depth with both categories. The second semester, the student will pick an area of focus, and spend the remainder of the year working on either Engineering or Architecture.
Introduction to Engineering Design
This course is for students who are considering a career in Engineering. It will cover the basics of design and exactly what being an engineer is all about.
